Yanks, especially Republicans - helped lately by Clintonites - have very little access to, so little acquaintance with, the truth.  Even so, it is the right who are currently spreading the rubbish and few but the nutters believe it - but there are millions of those (many Yanks who call themselves Christian believe God makes people rich and don't understand about camels and the eyes of needles).

He was once a Muslim, but converted to Christianity, that doesn't mean he doesn't hold the same beliefs.

He has the support of muslims world wide. Barack Hussien Obama? I think he's jewish. Are you kidding me? He might not be a practicing muslim today, but i believe he still is guided by the Koran. There is only one reason any American would believe that Barak Obama is a Muslim--they refuse to believe the truth, no matter how much evidence you have to support it. In other words, those who insist that Obama is a Muslim, despite every legitimate biography saying completely otherwise, is an absolute moron. Additionally, even if he were, it shouldn't matter. Those who believe that being a Muslim is in and of itself a problem, are even more moronic.

These two group of folks, American and Muslims, have a lot of bizarre behavior in common and I truly don't understand why they dislike each other so much.

I don't think many people think that anymore.  Some people are just provocative and keep saying that.  Some others are just uninformed and don't bother to find out.

His parents were not religious and he became a Christian as an adult.

He was born a Muslim, went to a Muslim school, his father and stepfather were Muslims.  he can recite the Koran and thinks that the Muslim call to prayer are the prettiest sounds.

Now, it doesn't matter if he denies it.  The Koran explicitly states that one can deny their faith if it is expedient.  

Even more importantly, the entire Islamic world considers him a Muslim.  By the way, you can't quit that organization.   You can call yourself anything you want but you are still a Muslim.

  And for the other posters: He did not convert to Christianity, he became a member of a Black Theological church.  That is not Christianity.
