Why do americans not "get" electronic music?

Most americans are not familar with techno,trance,house music and really could care less about it, where in europe and other places it enjoys a much larger audiance and is a popular,respected form of music. why do we not enjoy,get,understand this type of music

  1. I think Americans are just into different things in general. Different types of humor where the british are more of an intelligent type of comedy, but Americans never get that kind of humor because it has to be the type that is obvious. Same with music, the only time people here listen to techno and trance are at Raves, and those are usually illegal. There isn't much exposure of that kind of music, no artist that is known well produces that kind of music. So Americans don't hear enough of it and therefore they just don't get it. And honestly the only kind of people that listen to that kind of music are the goths and emos and they are not really looked at as being normal.

  2. idk, but i definitely agree. love the trance and electronica, and wonder why everyone is all about brittney spears/chris brown. . .  psh.

    europe has proven its superiority!

    i mean, you know all those dances that go along with trance and techno? like tecktonik and hardstyle, UNKNOWN TO AMERICANS!

  3. I dont know, personally I love deep house, trance music. Where I am they got a station for it. So im not sure.
