Because, generally surgeons and anesthesiologists deal with people 's life in surgery where they are very vulnerable and totally under your care.  . One mistake.!!  And it means a question between life and death.situation.    Anesthesia is very dangerous and has a lot of side effects.  So the anethesiologist should be an expert on this field to prevent  errors.
