  1. Maybe...after saving a human being in their arms...they use their wings to wrap them around the human. So he's more protected. :)

  2. "Angels in the Bible never appear as cute, chubby infants! They are always full-grown adults. When people in the Bible saw an angel, their typical response was to fall on their faces in fear and awe, not to reach out and tickle an adorable baby.

Some Bible passages picture angels with wings (Isaiah 6:2,6). Other verses talk about angels flying, and we assume that the wings would be useful for that flight (Daniel 9:21). However, I suspect that angels can move around without having to depend on wings. Most references to angels in the Bible say nothing about wings, and in passages like Genesis 18-19, it is certain that no wings were visible."

  3. i am an angel in disguise... my wings is your shelter...my shelter.

  4. All answers are, I'm presuming, assuming that angels even exist.

I have a question: why would angels - or birds or bats or any winged creature - need to have alternative uses for their flying mechanisms? What's wrong with wings just being for flying?

  5. If they do have wings, then I guess it's for our protection. They use their wings to shield us from harm, to make us safe and comfortable. Just like a mother hen who shelters her chicks under her wings, so does angels do the same for us...

  6. Angels is a cute name, if you heard that word you will surely think nice, beautiful and cute person or baby or angel really.

I think aside from flying the uses of their wings are just a design to make them look very cute with all the colour white wings. They look innocent and good.

  7. I'm with Noldzki on this one.  Couldn't have said it better myself.

  8. I don't know that Angels do have wings.  Artists have given them wings and I think it has embedded itself in Angel lore.  But, I like to think that Angels do have wings, somehow it makes them more like.....well, Angels!

  9. watch Fallen and see why angels need to have wings.

  10. To keep them warm a bit like the wings of a bird that cover its back and sides when it's asleep... You see we assume that angels wear clothes, but in reality they do not.

  11. It's their wings that make them distinct and separate from mortals.  They look human, after all.  However, I am not certain whether real angels have wings or, it's just a figment of an artist/painter's imagination to give credence to the uniqueness of an angel.   I would like to think that an angel has wings though but for what other purpose besides flying, I do not know except maybe that wings add to their magnificence and holiness.

  12. to slap someone's face. [:

or to cover their backs.. !

  13. they use their wings to shelter or comfort their ward

  14. think of my wings as extra blanket of protection

  15. so they could easily transfer from one person to the other. see,too much evil is in this world so they have to act fast...

  16. I bet they're good in a fight.  Nice surface area, and if they are strong enough to get them airborne they are strong enough to beat the fool out of someone.

And intimidating, too.  You ever seen a goose that is trying to threaten someone.  They throw open those wings and just start flapping; they don't even need to move toward the person.  They are one scary-looking group of birds.

I bet angels could do the same thing.  Just throw open those wings and start flapping...I know it would scare the h*ll out of me.

  17. I was raised to a belief that angels protects people from harm. I can assume that they use their wings as shields when protecting people.
