Angels first got 'Wings' in ancient Babylon. I have to assume that Christianity got the idea from Babylon, of which a lot (of negative) things are written about int the bible... But, still, they took the imagery of angels with wings from the earlier culture.

I would say that Angels have wings as that is the way the great Biblical renaissance painters portrayed them....

Devils have horns and tails because The Church demonized the most important Celtic God, Cernunnos, who to the Celts was The Horned God...He was the Green Man, he was Pan to the Greeks...This deception was to create fear and to alienate all that was Pagan and they not only demonized Cernunnos, but all the wood nymphs, sprites etc, and turned them into something evil, which is far from what they really represented...

Did you know that there are many in the Clergy today who are trying to get all reference to The Devil and h**l struck from The Bible as they are well aware that it was an invention of the early Church for control, and an excuse for murder....
