  1. they probally assume that the older u get the more reponsible but i think that age thing is dumb too

  2. hmmm....because ppl are stupid :)

plain and simple, nothing you can do about it, well they cant follow you around all day to see if you are responsible can they?

  3. Generally, this is because of child labor laws.  Jobs of that nature also require someone that has established a clean driving record, is old enough to handle issues such as operating certain equipment, etc. The shelter can get in big trouble if something happens, such as a dog gets loose and bites someone, so they hire people old enough to have the legal responsibility.  Often, people hired by the animal shelter are people who have volunteered for many years (another explanation for their age) who often have had some type of veteraniary training.  If you would like to work with animals, you're never too young to volunteer to raise funds, collect supplies, etc. in order to start a strong background to make you a strong candidate for a job.   If you know of someone who is working with animals and you feel that they are mishandling the animals, discuss this with someone at the shelter or someone you know who can contact the shelter about this concern.

  4. Stereotyping and child labor laws.

  5. I think that it is TOTALLY unfair!!!!!! My mom said that the animal shelter USE to let kids help, but the kids were not responsible, so they stopped.

  6. Probably because it's illegal to hire children 14 or under for anything but a family business.
