  1. everything feeds, only inanimate objects don't its a little thing called survival

  2. Multi-part answer:

    1) because they get hungry!

    2) they get hungry because there was a strong evolutionary pressure eons ago to produce the feelings of hunger that make animals hunt down their "appropriate" food.  This is one of those things that was locked in early in animal evolution.

    3) they need to respire (complex internal process...see your biology book!) some source of chemically-reduced carbon compounds.  The resulting oxidation of the reduced carbon compounds produces energy for cellular metabolism.

    4) plants have to respire too, of course.  The difference is they mostly make their own reduced carbon sources (not to mention "extra" food for all those animals, including us) through photosynthesis.  They respire just like we do (and use oxygen and give off CO2) all the time but in the sunlight, with enough nutrients and water they photosynthesize enough that they put out excess oxygen (thank goodness!) while they are making their food for later.

  3. Maybe because they're living things as we are, and need nourishment.  Even plants feed.......

  4. the reason why animals feed is just why humans feed. when you feed a baby breast milk it supplies more nutrients to the offspring than food itself, and it gives the baby more chance to survive.

  5. Why do you breathe?
