Wisconsin see most of its severe weather in May and June? How do you features like cyclones, fronts, and the jetstream make severe thunderstorms possible?

  1. Look at a map.  Texas and Oklahoma receive inflows of moist gulf air from the southeast, winds from the southwest and cooler, unstable air from the west and northwest. They collide and make storms.

    Though we seem to have severe storms here in OK pretty much anytime the temp gets over 70 or so.  Had really rough ones a couple of weeks ago in March, I remember a deadly tornado in early January years back that killed several people, and sucked out our window.
