  1. simple - astronauts in orbit can see stars directly without the light from the star going through the atmosphere. It is the atmosphere (the Earth's air) that makes the stars twinkle. They also see a black sky because outer space does not reflect or scatter any sunlight back to them. The Earth's atmosphere has oxygen and ozone layer which scatters the UV radiation in sunlight to create blue light so they see blue light around the Earth or "blue earth".


  2. stars don't twinkle in space? lol But we see a blue sky from earth because of the way the air in the atmosphere scatters light. the blue wavelength of the white light from the sun is scattered the most so thats what our eyes pick up and we see.

  3. This is a photography question.

    If the camera aperture and shutter speed were set so that you could see stars, there earth would be way over-exposed and just show as a white disk.

  4. Stars twinkle because of the layer of atmosphere between their eye and the star. The sky is dark because light is invisible until it hits something. Air is clear until you get enough of it, then it shows blue.(thick air).

  5. we see earth as blue because 70% of earth is ocean... LOL
