Why do australian games cost so much?

i've looked around the next and people in australia have to pay $100 - 110 and in america its 40-60!!! we pay 500 for an xbox 360 and in america its 300!! that's $200 difference

  1. Because the retail industry in Australia is filled with crooks.  


  2. Costs are completely different. We earn a lot more then they do in America so therefore goods are priced accordingly.  

  3. I think it's the cost of shipping the games over here - we're an isolated country, geographically speaking, so everything has to be flown in or shipped over by boat. With fuel being as expensive as it is, that cost is added on to the price and we as consumers end up paying more.

    This problem would of course be solved by manufacturing games in Australia; I have no idea why they don't do this. I'm sure no-one in Australia likes paying excessive amounts for games (I hate it too!) and software and I hope somehow they can bring the cost down.
