I honestly think its good dreams, or even yes angels.

Because they are filled with the joy of innocence. There closer to God than almost every adult, due to their state of need, their soul calls upon god endlessly and he grants them with unlimited Joy.

Jesus loves innocence, so they get rewarded.

The same reason older children and adults smile and laugh during sleep: they're dreaming.

Even dogs move their paws during sleep, and sometimes yip...it's called dreaming.
