since the cricket bat is flat the batsmen hits the ball just as hard as the baseball batter does with a rounded bat.

  1. Yeah, in cricket they don't pitch or hit as hard.  =)

Baseball is a more fast-paced game and having gloves makes it easier to watch.

    (Less errors, more web gems.)

Besides, both are very different games and great in their own ways, but I have to say I prefer baseball.

  2. because of this

also its just part of the game it's not like they use gloves because they are "sissys" (people like to call americans that)

this is like asking why basketball hoops have backboards, its just part of the game

  3. Because Baseballs are smaller, and catch more air.

I thought everyone knows that.. I'd rather catch something really big, then something small and coming at you like a bullet, Ya Dig?

  4. 1.) Gloves provide a larger area for catching.

    2.) Gloves protect against bruising.

3.) A line drive baseball moves much faster than a cricket ball.

    4.) Americans don't like pain.

  5. The pitcher in baseball can throw it faster then the pitcher can in cricket. That means the baseball it hit harder & faster then the cricket ball is hit. The baseball will take off some fingers without a glove.

  6. i broke my index finger when catching a line shot when i was pitching.  And that was with a glove.  Granted i didn't catch it in the right spot in the glove, which would be the pocket of the glove.  But i didnt really have much time to get my glove lined up perfectly.  Imagine what it would have done if i hadnt had a glove on.

  7. Cricket balls dont come as fast as baseballs, If your in the majors, they would come as fast as 105 MPH

  8. You just listed the reason

Since the cricket balls are heavier, they aren't hit nearly as hard as baseballs. If you tried catching a liner in baseball, your hand would just about fall off

  9. does a cricket ball come at you in excess of 100 mph?

I beg to differ, a cricket ball gets nowhere near 100 mph.

Dude the guy hit a slow roller and another groundball.

  10. Yeah, but a baseball is pretty hard.

You try hauling in a line drive to 3rd or a tall fly ball to center field without a glove and you tell me why fielders use gloves.

  11. what do you suggest them using? Bats?

ive seen this question before. You try catching a hard hit line drive with your bare-hand. Good luck!

Also, i'd really feel sorry for the catcher when someone who throws 98+ is pitching

  12. The ball can be hit up to 100 mph

example this would happen more if there are no gloves

  13. Both diffrent sports cant be compare togather  if you caught a line drive with bare hands you will break you're fingers and plam easily.

  14. because baseball is harder

  15. Why don't you do some first hand research and then get back to us?  Have someone hit you some hard line drives or some really hard grounders, and I think you'll have your question answered pretty quickly.
