Why do basset hounds drag there back legs?

i have a 1 year old basset that will stretch out and drag his back legs.

  1. He's just stretching, my bluedog even sits on his hind legs and stretches his front paws out, usually when he's sitting on my lap, his legs end up on top of my head.


  2. My shih tzu does it. What is funny is he lays with his back legs stuck out. Like al the time-he plops on the floor like that everytime he comes in and just looks ridiculous.

  3. He's just stretching out. My chihuahua does that, too.

  4. He's just stretching, all breeds do that.

  5. Basset Hounds are so improperly bred.  I've heard they can have problems with their legs because they breed them to have legs too short.  

    Perhaps this is why?
