Why do beautiful girls always get treated better?

Why do beautiful girls always get treated better by everyone? I'm female and I'm not overweight but I'm not a beauty either and I get treated like garbage by some others. (They make fun of me) How can I overcome them and have a better self-esteem?

People have a natural preference for pretty things and this permeates all situations where people can see each other.   It's not fair, but beautiful people are pretty much always given preferential treatment by parents, teachers, colleagues etc. We're more shallow than we like to admit.

Just ingnore those that make fun of you...I know easier said then done, when they start to make fun of you just picture them in 10 years from now scrubbing toilets for a living.  How you look on the inside will prove to be much more important in life then how you look on the outside, unless you're looking to be a model.  Good luck and dont let them get to you.
