  1. Many characteristics of insects are ingrained.  They don't think about it their programming tells them what to do.  We can think of many reasons why they shouldn't build nest that are too easy for animals to get the honey.  But bees do not think they just do what they genes tell them to do.  The ones that build their nest too close to the ground will not survive as well as those that build them higher up.  Perhaps these are escaped bees from commercial hives which are kept low to the ground.  Perhaps bees nests are not attacked as often with all the people around so those that build them closer to the ground now survive.  You can probably come up with other possibilities if you thought about it.

  2. i only c bees nestest n the air so u must b crazy idk what ur talking about and i never will!!!

  3. Wind, sun, predators/enemies or lack there-of, food availability, species, temperature/climate, noise

EDIT: to the person who can't spell:  I have seen nests in trees that were higher than 3 story buildings, and I'm sure that there are many much higher.

  4. well i think its because when its lower to the ground the bees don't have to go that far to reach the flowers
