  1. THey die because when they sting, they expell the venom sac with some of its vital organs. OUCH

  2. The stinger is actually the ovipositor of the female bee , it is her genitalia.  It contains barbs that prevent it from being pulled out of the skin(at least for the bee)  So the bee looses a lot of internal organs with the stinger.  That is also why you are told not to squeeze the stinger to pull it out.  In so doing you insert more of the internal fluids of the bee into you.  Consider how you would be doing if someone reached in to you and pulled out a handful of your internal organs.

  3. some bee's, wasps, hornets, and yellowjackets don't die when they use their stinger. However, normal worker honeybeesget the entire stinger embedded into the skin of the object. When the bee flies away, the stinger, and the venom sac stays in the skin, and pulls out a few vital organs from the bee, so the bee usually dies withing a day. However, the queen bee can use it's stinger over and over again because sometimes 2 queen bee larva become mature at the same time so they engage in a fight, and they repeatedly sting each other until one bee dies. The queen bee that is alive becomes the queen of the hive.

  4. Normal worker bees die, but the queen bee can use her stinger over and over again.

  5. First thing, not all bees die after stinging or tear the stinger out.  Only the honey has this barbed stinger that sticks and only the workers has a barbed stinger.

The stinger is attached to abdominal tissue.  When the stinger is pulled out, this tissue comes as well.  Within a few minutes the worker bee dies.
