  1. It's called the argument from argumentation.

    (1) God exists.

    (2) [Atheist's counterargument]

    (3) Yes he does.

    (4) [Atheist's counterargument]

    (5) Yes he does!

    (6) [Atheist's counterargument]

    (7) YES HE DOES!!!

    (8) [Atheist gives up and goes home.]

    (9) Therefore, God exists.

  2. =/ Doesn't if just get that much more frustrating when they even refuse verses from their own religious book when used to prove a point?

  3. People who believe in the Bible do so without evidence, so they have no claim to ask others for evidence.

  4. Hmm, I honestly hadn't noticed this one. It does become obvious when pointed out, though.

  5. Seems futile, doesn't it?

  6. What would you expect from people who wouldn't even be able to read if it wasn't for that book of theirs?

  7. It's a little shell game they play.  If you don't give sources, they want them.  If you give sources, they say that you "misquoted" the bible, or the bible doesn't mean what it says, or that something or other is a "parable", or that a certain version of the bible is no longer applicable, or that other "sources" refute your "sources."   Bibleists are so intellectually unprincipled that there are not words to describe it.

  8. As far as they are concerned, the bible is the only source. If it isn't in the bible, it doesn't exist.

  9. Because that way they can make their opponent sound wrong, by repeatedly asking them to give evidence.

You're allowed to ignore evidence, it makes it far easier to prove your own position
