Why do boomerangs come back to you?

I'm doing a science project on Why Boomerangs Come Back to You.

  1. If you look at a boomerang you will see  that it is shaped as an airfoil like an airplane's wing.  When you throw it the airfoil moving through the air creates lift and causes it to turn and if it was thrown properly it will circle back to the thrower.
