  1. They dont where I live maybe you need to speak to the driver because he or she is just as uncomfortable as you are.

  2. they do it just to make you mad.............

  3. They don't. They have the vent opened. That means when it's hot outside the air is warm. When it's cold outside the air is cool. No A/C saves fuel.

  4. It seems like that doesn't it?

Most buses run without a thermostat in the cooling system, so they can never reach normal operating temperature during the coldest months.

In the summer months the coolant rises the same number of degrees but from a higher starting point.

  5. If the bus spends a lot of time stuck in traffic ie. central London, having the heating on is a way of dissipating the heat and stops the engine overheating.

Why they don't have the heating on in winter is another matter. Maybe the driver has similar views to me and doesn't like having warm air blowing around in case it makes him feel drowsy, especially towards the end of his shift.
