  1. In New York, there are some busy route like M15 along 2nd-1st Av because it goes throught busy area with Lex Av subways are always crowded, so does M15 bus.

According to Straphangers Campaign who lives in Nassau has experience S92 Hampton Jitney under contract with Suffolk County Transit is two-hour late, and even it doesn't show up, and He didn't want to miss his train, so he give up waiting.

Suffolk County Transit's Hampton Jitney and Sunrise doesn't give helpful situation because they're always late.

In New York, most buses come, early, late, ontime depends on time.

Sometimes traffic or accident can cause slow down and delays on buses worldwide.

  2. Traffic, Road works, silly pedestrains, Accidents. If you are unhappy with your bus service, you should complain at the bus depot. There is always a reason why a bus runs late, but they cannot defend a reason for a bus to run early, that is the drivers fault. You should be aware that a bus service does not guarantee to arrive on time, if it is an important journey you should expect to take a bus at least one hour early.

  3. Some bus companies have GPS on each bus, so there's a phone number you can call and you tell them your route number and they will tell you where the bus is.

  4. Buses don't turn up, either due to poor maintainance, or if you live on a very frequent route, companies often remove a vehicle from service to move it to a less frequent service, the mentality being that the impact will be felt less on a frequent service.

Buses usually run late because of traffic, and according to Arriva "Under No Circumstances is it acceptable for a driver to run early" - if its early at a TIMING POINT, and leaves early, it MUST be the drivers fault.

I reccomend contacting the bus company - and I would NEVER take it out on the driver.

  5. You say that you drive.

Well tomorrow you try to drive to wherever you are going and try to arrive at a time, exactly to the minute.

Then you will have answered your own question

  6. I though they only turned up in threes, a bit like office girls going to the lavatory

  7. Ever heard of traffic? This is the most likely cause, and yes, you are right, it's not the driver's fault so don't have a go at them!

  8. The only reason that Buses run late is because of all the drivers who think it's better to go by car!!

  9. There are a million plus reasons for buses being late. Other car drivers not letting buses out from bus stops, (you're supposed to you know, it's in the Highway Code. Have a look), delivery wagons parked haphazardly - not to mention cars doing the same thing - and when they're passing parked cars with no room the other way, some cars seem to think you can reverse out of their way. Nine times out of ten there's nowhere to reverse to even if they could. Did you know buses are not allowed to reverse if they've got passengers on board?

At peak times they're running late because of the amount of people wanting to get to work/school/whatever, plus the increased commuter traffic that have the ever famous "Must get in front of the bus" syndrome. That's when you get 2 or 3 buses running together because the front one is picking up his passengers and the second buses passengers.

Just a few reasons out of many.

  10. Actually Ggeorgie it is quite unfair to blame the Bus driver. You have to remember that a bus is a lumbering great beast with the performance of a constipated cow.

I live in a very small country village, to stop at our village the bus takes a loop off the main road. But to get back onto the main road it needs a gap sufficient for a slow accelerating vehicle to get out safely on BOTH north and south bound carriage ways. I have seen a bus sit at the junction for 10 minutes waiting for a suitable gap before now.

  11. When buses don't turn up it's because the driver couldn't be a###d to turn up for work, and there wasn't another driver available to do the route.

When they are late it's because of a lot of traffic or an accident earlier on in the route.

Turning up early? - NEVER experienced that as there is only 1 bus going each day into the city/town where I work.

  12. they get stuck in traffic like the rest of us.  there are more people at bus stops than expected. There are less people at the stop than expected due to the early bus being delayed so now you are early

  13. If it's something important.  leave early so that you have enough time to wait for the bus and don't end up late.

  14. many many implications, swap over times from driver to driver, vomit or whatever on vehicle,so have to go to garage to get it cleaned unless you like sitting in someone elses puke,vandalism..ie ripped up seats ....old or new buses broken down,traffic.........you name it,and its there, yes its frustrating i know, but so is life???????
