Why do casino drill holes in their cards after use?

There's a possibility of a player slipping one of those marked cards into the game.

So they can't be reused at the casino. Also so the employees don't try to sell them to others or become motivated to give them to select people. Infact, after the cards are used. They are gathered by security and taken to a room and destoyed by drilling them and in some cases, burning. The same thing happen to the dice. Hope this answers your question.
