  1. has to do with with the almighty dollar, if you see a machine you like on the way to the tables you might stop in and play there. The machines that make a lot of noise and lots of people are whopping and hollering will probably attact more people to that area of slots.  I've noticed it works, walking along the strip I could hear machines and people winning inside, It is open to the streets, I went in and started playing, yes I did okay. Notice the bathrooms are all the way to the back of the casino? Or the elevators are on the opposite side? they have lots of tricks they use to get you to part with your money like color of the rugs, ceilings, smells, fresh air, it seems I can stay up for hours in Las Vegas and dont even realize it. I can play craps and slots all night, weird at home I have to sleep..lol They move things around constantly checking out floor plans, moving around tables all to appeal to your wallet.

  2. It keeps the place seeming fresh, interesting and mysterious.  Perhaps in searching for what you are ultimately looking for you stop and play something else.  Thus earning the casino more money.

If it were always the same people would start to ignore things, and head straight for what they went there to do, without having to explore or notice new things.

  3. To make it easier for someone to become "lost" and unable to find the exit and thus stay in the casino gambling for a longer period of time.
