Why do cats and dogs not like you touching or playing with their paws?

to ummm....hi: yeah, I dont mind if people sniff my feet or give my feet a massage using their mouth. hahahah

Some do, some don't. My cat will only let me touch her paw, everyone else she claws. Could also be that if you trim your pets nails they won't like their paws being touched because that might mean getting their nails cut.
