  1. Because they're attention seekers. They've seen you looking at the paper and can't for the life of them figure out why you would be wanting to look at the paper when you could be looking at, and paying attention to, them. Sneaky buggers.

  2. i think it may be  because it is warm. if u leaned on a newspaper for a couple of miutes u will find it warm too.

  3. doint kno

  4. my cat does this too lol

she loves all papers and loves to bits sitting on newspapers

    dunno why

  5. I think they like the rustly sounds and the smooth texture. My cats just like sitting on my papers if I'm trying to read them cause they know they'll get attention.

  6. That piece of paper is a well-defined patch of territory and the cat is staking its claim.  It's also possible they like the coolness of paper and they like getting your attention.

  7. My cat loves to get into boxes!

  8. "There are several possible reasons for this. For one thing, cats like to be near us. They know that if they plop themselves right under our noses, so to speak, they will get attention, and usually good attention. Cats have a need for warmth and security, and this fills their need. They also want to leave their scent on anything that belongs to us because it makes them feel more secure.

Cats also like small spaces, and that might explain why they will pick a small defined area like a folded towel or skirt on a larger area like the bed. It might be just instinct - or it might be that need for warmth that draws them to an added certain texture of material.
