  1. Dogs are pack animals so they're always trying to "serve" their owners.  They also need almost constant attention from their owners.  Which frankly, I find quite annoying.  I'm also currently seriously annoyed with about five different dogs barking in my neighbourhood at once.

Cats, on the other hand, tend to be quiet, solitary creatures and don't feel the need to cater to humans.  They're very indepent.  But they're not "selfish" and I find this at odd choice of words.  You've obviously never had a cat or if you did didn't give it very much attention.  Had you you'd realize that cats are sweet, loving, playful and very devoted to their owners.

  2. That's simple. Dogs have human masters whom they try to please whereas cats have human staff to provide the cat his/her needs. The cats pays the human servant with affection when he/she deems it appropriate.

In other words dogs are betas in the pack serving humans where cats are alphas in a pack.

    :)

  3. Can you give an example?

All of my dogs would like nothing better than to be the only dog; to be the only one who gets attention and wants all the food.

When one is getting attention, the other three are physically trying to push him away.

  4. It only seems so, but if you look at them as animals rather than pets, you would see that the way they would live in the wild reveals the answer. Cats live alone, besides the lion that is, but almost all other species prefure to be alone and live oportunistic lifestyles.

Where a dog in almost all cases in the wild live in packs, thus thriving on companionship. They also have pack leaders that they obey, or they get thrown out of the pack.

So are cats more selfish than dogs? In a sense, yes, they live alone in the wild and live for themselves, where dogs live in packs and live for thier pack, sharing food, taking care of eachother, ect. However through domestication cats have become closer to humans and can be very dependent and close to their owners, acting almost dog-like.

  5. When you think you own a cat they actually own you and that makes them superior to you. They ALLOW you to be around them. You don't won them, they own you and that's what makes them different from dogs

  6. My cat is a dog, he rolls over for a belly rub, follows me around everywhere in the house, and has to be in the same room with humans.  However, he doesn't constantly need to be pet, he just wants to be in the vicinity.

  7. because they only show unselfishness to awesome people, like me.
