  1. haha i think thats the cutest things that cats do when they're playing.  they do this so they can build up enough power to get to the item they are attacking.  i think of it as a little dance (:

  2. Excitement!

  3. Think of your cat as an Olympic runner. The runner gets down into the proper position with one foot behind them and the other in front. They tighten up the thigh muscles and dig their shoes in to grab the dirt on the track, ready and waiting for the signal to go.

The same is with your kitty. The kitty hunkers down with their eyes wide, locked onto their prey. The back nails extend, much like baseball cleats - for grip, the rear starts to wiggle a bit to get their thighs tightened and after a few seconds.. WHAM! The prey is caught.

  4. Its to wipe their bottoms before they pounce on your lap. Or possibly what the first person said hee hee....

  5. they are getting there energy out. isnt it the cutest thing you ever saw?

  6. If you watch their legs you can see their muscles tensing up. They are gathering their energy for the leap. some of them even dance in place, hence the butt wiggles.

  7. my own idea is because they know how cute it looks to us so that's why but in reality it is more to get their muscles ready to jump or run.

  8. Traction and preparing the muscles to go far!
