  1. because when our lives are rubbish we turn to fantasy about them and we dream ******** dazes ********* lmao-just kidding

stars are big because we make them big. if no one took interest and only went to the movies and no red carpets.... or concerts...... or buy the magazines... its the genral public going OMG bragalina lets all act like stalkers .. ( i personally see nothing in the pair but hay each to their own)

  2. because we see them in there work and become attracted to them (doesnt hurt that the majority are very attractive looking) we like to know what they do in reality and how there lives are.

  3. Because celebs sell newspapers and bring in the TV ratings. Some people live vicariously through celebrities they admire (why, I have no idea - perhaps their own lives are insufferably dull), or they take a perverse pleasure in seeing someone like Britney Spears getting torn apart by the media - perhaps it makes them feel better about themselves?

As a general rule, newspapers will print, and TV stations will run, whatever they think will make them money. They are businesses and they have their shareholders to consider. The fact that most of the "celeb" stories they run are pure fiction disturbs them not a jittery jot.

  4. Because when they mention their names most of the population know who they are

    . .. ..

Your or I on the other hand would be a comment of

    ... . ...

Who the h**l-o is that person

If we were mentioned on the news or put into print

    ..  ... ...

The only time we might get recognition is if something really nasty happen to us that made people puke or get real sick when they heard it

    .. . ..

  5. It's the mystique surrounding them that drives people to want any information about them. Secretly, many want to be a movie star or a rock star.

  6. Because our society is shallow and gives these people more credit than they deserve. Those people that save lives for a living for instance only get a second or two on the evening news when they rescue someone (take the Coast Guard or Fire Fighters for instance) Whereas Britney get 15 mintues every time she gets out of rehab.

It is a disease of our society. Shallow people feeding their own egos- and the general public is eating it up- like a big stupid soap opera.

  7. Simple answer: people care about them, at least on some level. Why is Paris Hilton so often on the list of most-searched names on Google? Why did CNN's ratings triple when it covered Anna Nicole Smith's death? Because there are plenty who are interested.

It can be a little troubling, but most of the time it's harmless.
