  2. Chickens do this when roosters want to mate with them, we have a chick who is a boy and he is already making his mother do this which is very worrying! They also do it is a dominant chicken walks past, it's to protect themselves, like we go in a hunched posture is we think someone is going to hurt us. We have taught out chickens to do this when we walk up to them to make picking this up easier for us! So don't worry about it, it's perfectly natureal!

  5. They crouch as it's instinct and they do this when a dominant male wants to mate with them.

    It comes in handy when you need to pick them up though doesn't it! :)
