Why do children always have to?

Fight over the same toy, even if they have lots of toys or not many, it is always the one that is getting played with by another child.

Because it annoys the Cr** out of us and we interact with them that or they just plain old evil like the christians recon on some days I swing more for the latter.

instinct , survival of the fittest, we have surpassed it in evolution but not in our genetic make up , it is why sibling rivalry is not taught it just takes place.We have a genetic need to be dominate.

The answer is JEALOUSY!!!  Kids are and forever will be jealous of one another, even if they are getting treated the same way.  My mom ran a daycare and no matter what on a daily basis the one argument was always over what one kid wanted that another kid had.  I guess its just a part of life until they grow out of it which is never......

Lol ya my brother and sissy do that alot it's because they are at that age when they get jealous and immature so  ya they always fight they are both in a stage right know and wats said my brothers 10 and my sissy is 5 and my brother get jelly if my sissy is playing with a toy he wants we dont know wats wrong with him:)

Well, its like this:

If 'I' put down this toy, that means I am bored with it.  I dont like it anymore.  But when HE (or she) picks it up, I am intrigued.  I had not 'thought' that that particular toy was interesting.  However, now that HE is looking at it, I wonder if I may have been too hasty in tossing it aside.

I'll just take that back if you dont mind....

No, you cant have it.  I want to play with it.  No, you CANT have it, I am playing with it.  I am playing with it, I am playing with it.

HE left!!!  HE no longer is interested in this toy, now its all mine to play with as long as I want!  Glory Be!

...Hm...Im bored.  I dont like this toy anymore.

Repeat several times until naptime when said toy mysteriously disappears forever!

It's more fun causing hassle for Mum & Dad than it is playing nicely. ;)

The toys are less important than establishing dominance and focus of attention. If  (as a 6 yr old) I focused on a particular doll, my sister would try to take it, not because she cared about the doll, but because she wanted to be where my attention was.
