Why do chimpanzees l**k walls of the cottages around their area here in kibale forest reserve in Uganda?

In Uganda,there is a huge number of chimpazees relative to the whole world.i never cease to be amuzed by thier behaviours.

  1. Presumably they'd be after some particular mineral or other.  I know elephants have what are called salt and mineral licks.  The chimps' cousins are probably putting something useful onto their walls, perhaps from river mud or some such source.
