  1. Yeah, funny how when children are taught bible study there's only certain parts that are judged , by Christians, to be acceptable for them to hear. I thought it was 'like those of donkeys' though, not waterfalls. Oh well.

  2. What's your point or your question about the horses....(smile)

  3. You're making a broad generalization.

Having said that, it seems to me that the Christian tendency toward censorship stems from the fact that there are certain thoughts in Christianity that are sinful - Jesus' expansion of adultery to include 'lusting in your heart' after someone is an example.  Censoring one's own thought is a good thing in Christianity, so it moves fairly naturally to censoring others' thoughts and ideas.

  4. That sounds like it was taken from the Tanakh. I often wondered why the imagery was lightened in the Bible, but that doesn't make much of a difference either way.

  5. Because they don't even realize that text is in their bible.

Here's another one where Abraham makes his servants swear an oath while holding his testicles (I guess they didn't have bibles back then):

    Genesis 24:2-3:

"And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell"

    Genesis 24:9:

"And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter."

  7. Control freaks like to pick and choose what opposing factions should be allowed to discuss.

Christians and communists are very much alike in that philosophy.

  8. Fear. An inability to debate/refute the issues.

  9. Sounds to me like it was the horse that ultimately got screwed.
