Why do cigarettes and coffee make you want to use the restroom after?

I have been noticing that; after about 2 hours... Is this normal?

i havent noticed that with cigs but i have noticed with coffee i think its the amount of caffeine in it.

I believe that having the urge to go to the bathroom after a cigarette and cup of coffee has nothing to do with the cig and everything to do with the caffeine in the coffee.  Same thing happens to me after I have coffee, however I don't smoke so there is no cigarette involved.  I've been constipated the next morning after a day where I've eaten foods containing alot of cheese, however things get moving after that cup of coffee...caffeine's a great laxative.

the hot liquid plus i think the caffeine gets your system kind of revved up, including your bowels!
