Because most people in the government know than the undocumented are actually good for the economy , therefor in many cities such as NY and San Francisco the people from the government not only allow the undocumented to live in their cities but also encourage them to go live in them .

I would like to point out about the article than it does focus in three stages :

one being the money which is received from the undocumented immigrants .

the second about the money which is spent in the undocumented both locally and by the Federal Government .

and third the 17.8 billions which the state would not receive if it wasn't for the undocumented immigrants ..

NOTE : the second point in which the article focuses is actually the money which Americans are receiving for giving any kind of benefits to the undocumented ( pay attention to who is actually receiving such money and think about it )

New York has always been a city full of immigrants. Look at the statue of liberty on Ellis Island. "Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses." As for San Francisco, they are just more progressive than most states. This entire country was built by immigrants and just because we've been here this long doesn't mean we are native or anything.

Ever wonder why big cities such as San Francisco and New York never seem to be very hard hit during tough economic times?  During the current "downturn" (or recession or whatever you want to call it), it was the rural and suburban areas that got hurt the most.  Larger cities were relatively immune, and this is one of the reasons.

Those are great cities to visit, but I wouldnt want to live in either.  All you have to do is pay attention to what is going on, both cities make all levels of media with regard to why they must stand out and join the low ranks of illegal alien pros.  There are so many things illegal going on in those cities, I think they have no idea what is right, wrong, moral, patriot or freaking American!
