  1. Previous answer correct, plus Bernoulli effect, acceleration and pressure reduction, many of those clouds are lentiform. (shape of a lentil)


  2. As warm air comes to the mountain ranges it rises over the mountains.

    The higher the air goes the colder it gets.

    The colder it gets, the less moisture the air can hold.

    As warm air cools, the water  in that air cannot stay in the air and comes out as clouds, which are water vapour.
