I am taking a beginning boxing class and I like the sport but I am having a hard time with the coaches. I know that hassling players/students is pretty common, but I just don't understand the purpose.

  1. More of a psychological conditioning thing..you'll find it in any group setting that would merit kids or even adults that need that extra push...I was never involved in sports but I was in Band during High School and our director could be mentally rough so that we would get our act together because sometimes we needed it.  It wasn't to tear us down but to build us up and most often it works.

  2. put yor gloves on and challenge your coach to a match!

  3. I play volleyball and I get screamed at more than my teammates, even my friends think so. But it's really helped me because it makes me not want to get yelled at. Sounds weird but it helps by making me a better player. It's that extra little push that makes you want to be better and not get yelled at.
