you may be warm blooded and cold drinks aren't that good for you then because get coughs and sore throats then.

I never heard of that.

"Brain Freeze" is actually what you have to watch out for, but I never heard about the coughing thingy.

Because the inside of your mouth (where the liquid is entering) is a far warmer temperature than the drink - when you initally consume the drink your body goes into a state of minor shock, and as a result believes the cold liquid is 'dangerous' or an 'enemy', it tries to cough in order to rid of it.
