Question:

Why do conspiracy theory supporters believe?

I was wondering what their motivation is. It doesn’t seem financially beneficial supporting whacky theories. Is it a social grouping thing, a cause or rebellion to fight for & believe over others? Is it an interest to pursue in their spare time? They remind me of Jehovah’s in their relentless pursuit to make others believe. It strikes me, you have to be pretty fanatical to maintain that level of perseverance so do they have issues? These people come out with the most stupid baseless rubbish & yet the majority seem very intelligent down to earth types.

So Just, why?

  1. I don't exactly 'believe' in theories (thus the term *theories*), but I do take them into account since conspiracies themselves have certainly existed throughout history.

All you need are two people agreeing to keep a secret from others who would benefit from their information, and you have a conspiracy. (whether they are old rich white guys or not)

  2. cuse they are wierdos and dont pay any attention.

  3. being one myself, we either make stupid rumours OR, get on the bandwagon of one and just play the distance with it

  4. hi

i just think some people are controversial and enjoy looking at things from different angles - as well as having heated debates! I think some are also wary of anything that sounds 'too good to be true' or becoming a 'spoon fed' society. I think its a good thing that all angles are researched.
