Back in 7th grade me and my friends were recklace and did our best to have fun without breaking the law. In CO the rules are really tied together so no one does anything wrong. Anyway me and my friend were having a snowball fight and one snowball came close to a house. The dude got pissed off and called the cops on us. One day while we were walking home, I was crossing the street and this old guy speed up to 50 in a 15 mph zone (he had his grandson in the car, who was screaming as they speed up), and tried to hit me. I flipped off the dude when a cop came out of no where and tried to take me and my friend to Juvenile hall for throwing a snowball, completely ignoring the fact that someone tried to run me over. He acused us for vandalism to a fence (which we didn't do) and vandalism to a house. We told him we didn't wreak the fence, so he goes to the guy who tried to run me over (his house was near the fence that was broken), and askes if we did it. The guy says yes (he was mad at the kids at our school for crossing in the street). The cop believes him, so he took us to our school and our principle chewed us out. The cop later talked to our parents about it and I was grounded for a month. It pisses me off that they did their best to get me in jail and didn't do a thing about a real crime. The guy who tried to run me over didn't get c**p about anything. Why did they completely ignore it? I was really lucky that I didn't get hit! (I have a very basic Law knowelage) I think the cop should have put the old guy away for: Recklace endangerment (Me, my friends, and his grandson were all in danger of that), Assault, and speeding. Why didn't he??? It seems like cops do their best to put people away for things that do not count as a crime. Is it me or is that statement true?
