  1. probably because they think your trying to start trouble or something when you're really not some people just think that skateboarding is a crime when its not i know lots of skaters that get in trouble with the cops for no reason

  2. Just because they can, no other reason than that.

  3. I think its ridiculous.  Security guards are bad too.  Skating doesn't hurt anyone and its not even a serious crime to skate in a no skating zone, so theres really no reason for them to get physical.

  4. save your tricks for when you are in a slate park or at least

a parking lot; preferably a deserted one.

everyone i have ever known who had an 'encounter' with the

police  thought they were being picked on.

police have always been courteous with me, but then i was

never doing anything illegal or been a danger to anyone.

  5. That's a shame. Unfortunately some police officers have a stereotypical idea of what skaters are and do. Skateboarding has been around for many years. Only recently has the sport been frowned upon by uptight conformists. The next time you are "pushed" by an officer for skateboarding. Contact his staff Sargent immediately. You should remind your friend that yelling back at the officer, only validates the officers idea of what he thinks you are. If you've done nothing wrong then do not tolerate an abusive power hungry cop. Report his behavior immediately and follow up with how the staff Sargent handled the complaint. It is your right.

  6. the cop is charged with protecting public safety.  people in your situation don't always see the risks of public behavior.  he is probably worried that it will lead to an accident in some way or distract drivers etc.  next time ask the police to explain what you did and why he is so upset.  because that would be valuable information that might allow you to avoid the situation in the future.  maybe you were "slightly" over the line of the crosswalk when you did this.  i have no idea.

  7. because they think that all skaters are punks trying to wreck everything.
