Why do corvettes have only 2 seats why not 4 or 5?

i think more people would buy them if they had like 2 in the back or 3 it has enough space

Because its a sports car. If it had 4 or 5 seats it wouldn't be a sports car icon. It's a sports car for 2 people, not a family car for the kids. I think a 400hp Corvette is the last thing you would want to be driving around more than 1 person in. Also, it would have to be extended length to fit seats in the back, and not to mention those seats would be tiny. If the car had 4 or 5 seats, it would sell LESS.

um i think most people who want a corvette arent exactly looking for a simple roomy family type vehicle.

Its a Sports car, or some people call it a super car. That is the reason, less weight means a faster car.

Because the Corvette was made for middle aged balding men with small wienies.so they could pick up chicks,they where not made to be taxi cabs.

If you wanted more seats then get a Z28 or Firebird.

I used to own Toyota MR2 (2 seater).  Besides the obvious performance aspects, there's something exclusive about riding in a 2 seater.

When the Corvette was first introduced it was designed and marketed to compete with believe it or not a car made by Nash which was also a two seater.  And they just stuck with it.

Look at it this way the Ford Thunderbird was originally a two seater car, they made it into a 4 seater and omg, look what happened!!  Have you ever seen a mid-late seventies Tbird?  IMO the Corvette is just fine as a two seater, get a T/A if you have kids.
