Why do cows sit down when it rains?

I mean in a scientific way. Although funny would be nice.

  1. It might be because there bones, they  don't like damp weather has it may get arthritis or rheumatism  very bad.

    Instinct.

  3. They actualy cover their bodies as they don't like getting wet. No scientific reason.

  6. cow sit down when it rains becase the cow wanted to get coolness if they will walk they will not get the coolness.

  7. have you seen the size of their legs compared to their bodies?! they would surely slip over if they didn't lie down.  

  8. so that it takes longer for them to get wet cos the rain has further to fall to hit their backs

  9. To keep a patch of grass dry, so when it stops raining they've got something to eat, they prefer dry grass to wet grass - apparently.
