  4. hmm..probably due to their physiology and range of motion. thus the way their legs are structured and position on the body results in a side-ways motion.

    Why an animal moves a certain or particular way is all about survival and anatomy.

    A bat flies to catch it's prey.

    A shark swims because it was built that way.

    Every living creature is built for surival, people can run to get away!

    Crabs walk sideways because that is how they were built, the ability to walk sideways obviously has it's benifits for a crab or else it wouldn't be living on this planet for millions of years.
