Why do cucumbers taste so gross when they are cooked?

I find cucumbers to be much tastier when they are raw. They are esp good with Balsamic Vinegar dressing :).

Cause they're not supposed to be cooked!!

Some of the things are best eaten raw.

Probably because all the moisture is drained and they get all soft.

Cucumbers are better juicy and crisp!

Never heard of anyone cooking a cucumber. Most veggies IMO taste better raw, they are also more nutritious that way too.

I like them both raw and cooked.

Perhaps you are not cooking them properly.

From what I've tried, quick high heat stir fry in a wok is best.  Using extra virgin olive oil, with garlic, and some soy sauce.

Really, tastes great.

90% water. it's like trying to cook tissue paper. yes. they are better raw or in cold, creamy soups like they make in the middle east and persia.
