People make money, how, by working! People work hard for there money, even people who are more wealthy then others, why do people think its right to tax them more money just because they make more, they work hard for there money, whatever they do they obviously worked hard to get there (except for sport stars and actors and stuff) But still. This is America, everyone is suppose to be EQUAL, so everyone should be taxed equal.

  1. Actually both democrats and republicans sometimes tend toward that but I  don't see it as people with more money being taxed more as it is people with less money being taxed less. Unfortunately paying taxes is something all working people have to deal with to live in this country but some people need to keep more money in their pockets than others do, therefore those people aren't expected to pay as much to the government. For example look at the different tax brackets based on a person's family status. A person who has a family of six to support doesn't pay as much in taxes as a single person with no dependents. However I do think the tax system should be simplified, maybe by having a flat tax rate for everyone, since the way the current system works usually ends up s******g not the wealthy or the poor but the middleman who makes just enough to qualify for the higher tax but a little too much to qualify for the breaks afforded to the lower end of the spectrum.

  2. I agree with those who believe the rich should be taxed more.

    You simply cannot say that a poor or middle class person didn't work hard enough or that they are lazy.  That is both ignorant and rude!

    My fiance and I work our *** off all week.  I own/operate a residential/commercial cleaning service and go 9,10, sometimes 11 days without a day off.  WE are not considered rich, and only make about $40,000 a year.  With times being as they are, it seems we can barely make ends meet.  So don't say or insinuate that if someone isn't rich, then they are lazy or not as smart.  It's very ignorant.

    There are millions of rich people who DID NOT work hard to get where they are, thus, they should be taxed more.  I actually think that certain rich people should be taxed more than others because it's people like Paris s**t Hilton that did nothing but "expose" herself to become rich.

  3. Because their idea of fairness is to give your money to people  who pop out illegitimate kids by the truckload and don't work.

    A lot of people believe a flat tax is the best. I don't know a lot about it, but it sounds more fair.

  4. So okay, I make 20k a year and should foot as much of the expenses for this country as someone that makes 200k?  Not feasible, big boy.

  5. They won't call it this but it is redistribution of wealth. I think there should be a flat tax. That way everyone pays the same percentage of what they earn. I don't see how anyone could say that would be unfair (although enough people do find it unfair or else it would already be implemented). A friend and I both attended college at the same time, I went into social services, he went into business. His end of year bonus is more than my annual income.  But that does not mean that he should pay a higher tax rate than I do. His greater income means he has access to more goods and services, thus creating income for others.

    * your computer is fine.

  6. The system is designed for people to be rich.  They just have to take risks and be smart about their money to do so.  Democrats just complain about how its not fair that someone was smart and they weren't.  They put on their little bibs and beg the government to help them or take more from the rich cause they're little babies that say googoogaga and poo poo in their diapers.

  7. I've tried to answer this question three times, and keep getting told that Answers is taking a breather.  Last try.

    Flat tax of 10 percent (dreaming)

    20,000 per year pays 2,000.

    200,000 per year pays 20,000.

    Seems fair at first look.  Don't know if it has any problems with it, but it seems fair for now.  And I'm tired of people hating the rich.  I'm not rich.  I'm a teacher who works two part time jobs to afford a small house, but I knew what I was getting into when I went into teaching.  Those who have more earned it or were lucky.  It's theirs one way or another and they shouldn't have to share it with everyone else to "be nice".

    Edit-I tried to make that point in one of my earlier attempts.  That if the rich don't pay their share, a flat tax would allow everyone to pay their fair share.  Some people say that normal people pay about 30% of their gross income in taxes.  If the rich pay less, wouldn't a flat tax boost what they pay, as your example above shows?

  8. First thing a Democrat does when elected is try and raise taxes, its in their play book.
