Why do democrats often put their bumper stickers on the paint?

Ocasionally, you shall see a republican doing this, but democrats do it so noticably, I would say they do it more often than not. The other day I found a sticker that said "You know we are in trouble when our bombs are smarter than the president" and it was right on the paint, I thought "If you are so d**n smart, then you would realize the minute you decide you do not want it there anymore, you are going to need a paint job". I have seen multiple cars that belong to liberals where the remains of bumper stickers are, where they are peeling off there is no paint (so do not tell me that it is safe to apply adhesives to paint). As for Support Our Troops ribbons those are magnetic and do no damage.

It's the nanny state mentality. I've heard that  Automotive Paint jobs due to bumper sticker removal will be covered under O'Bamas  universal health care plan.
