  1. Working at a doctors office I assure you they don't give out pills for everything. It just seems that way. What you need to remember there are so many people out their that expect doctors to come up with quick fixes. They hurt and want it fixed now!! They aren't looking for a lifestyle change or answers to why they hurt they just don't want to feel the pain. Same with other ailments, people come in with a stuffy nose and expect antibiotics. So really doctors have been put in a position where we expect quick fixes and they are forced to comply.

  2. it's the easy way out. sometimes meds are required like for an infection or something but i believe meds are too widely prescribed.  i believe they should be an absolute last resort.  alternative actions should be exhausted first.  i also seriously think docs get kick backs from drug mfr.  i've been trying to get my doc to prescribe generics and he refuses to do so.

  3. because they think it gets you out of the office sooner hence, them making more "hard earned" money.

  4. Because that's about all they can do sometimes. If they had a magic wand that fixed everything they'd use that.

  5. mmmmmmmmoney! that's what people want anyway..

  6. Because people demand a pill for everything. Everyone wants a quick fix. If you don't want to take medicine, tell the doctor. If he says you can wait out whatever's bothering you, you will both be happy. If he says you really need to be taking something, then you had best do it. People even demand medicine for colds and there is no medicine to cure a cold.

Doctors don't make more money when they give you a prescription. Many will even give you a sample if they have it.

  7. They want your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  8. well it does help sometimes. Depends on what your problem is.
