  1. It's a courtesy to you. Also, if you not clothed, your doctor is required to have a nurse in the room while he is examining you.

  2. Well, If you think about it there trying to keep you safe i know when i was Younger , It was ehh Awkward.. You know when they look at your.... privates and spread it apart.. (gross sorry) But its not like there Predators or anything, But it is kinda Uncomfortable i hate getting Naked, Or in that tiny Hospital Dress in front of doctors! But.. You gotta get through it

  3. I'm thankful my doctor gave me some privacy during both my MRI and my other tests that I don't remember the name of. I don't think I could've gotten naked in front of them.

    It's awkward as h**l.

  4. Because when they look at you naked later, they are looking at you with a medical purpose.

If they look at you while you are changing, there is no medical purpose except to ogle.

  5. Yes they are.  I have had doctors stay while I undress.  Most do leave the room.  Depends on why I am there.  I have a dermatology appointment tomorrow.  Nurse usually gives me a gown and I undress before the doctor comes in.  It is funny cause the doctor undoes the gown when he checks so I am naked by the end of the exam.

  6. it preserves dignity as one takes one's clothes off.

  7. its still kinda awkward to change in front of a stranger

  8. It's for your own privacy.  (If you are taking off your pants, trip, and fall on your butt, do you want the doctor to see that?)  Plus, that's 3-5 minutes the doctor can do something else or take a mini break.

  9. do u want a doctor gawking at you WHILE your undressing?there's no reason 4 that.

  10. We cover up with a gown, and the doctor is only supposed look at the part(s) they need to see. It's not like they see you running around naked! Once I had to get dressed in front of my doctor and it was really awkward.

  11. idk cause they gone 4ever!!!!

  12. Because they don't want you to feel awkward or rush yourself and fall on your butt because your nervous. lol

  13. They dont wonna see your face at that moment, they will be seeing 'that you wouldn't wonna have them see'. Aaaahh, reminds me I have to do it soon, I hate it!

  14. Because it would be horribly awkward and uncomfortable to have the doctor sitting there watching you as you undress.  It almost seems indecent if they did that.  If you are already naked when they come back in, they can do their job and get out.  Less time for awkwardness.  There is no need for them to watch you.  My doctor doesn't even have me undress.  He just has me undo my pants to do the "turn your head and cough" bit.  If I had to be totally naked I'd probably embarrass myself by having to turn my nude discomfort into something humorous, saying something like "You know I normally charge for this, right?"

  15. i dont know what doctor you go to but mine has never seen me naked. i always have a hospital gown on. you should maybe check into this...

  16. To preserve your illusion of dignity.

  17. To leave you with the illusion of dignity.  Don't worry Kate, they do turn around and strip that illusion away from you at about age 65.  Enjoy it while it lasts.

  18. huhh???? never had that happen b4???

  19. In many cases they give you a gown to put on once you're naked. It just needs to be only that thin layer of cloth so they can still perform them exam without actually seeing you naked. Or you can do like me and just refuse the gown.
