  1. totally

  2. I think the expensive things taste the best.

But seriously, maybe they see that you like it or treasure it or at least use it a lot and they have to join in.

  3. I'm not sure some dogs just have expensive taste I guess. Or maybe they take notice when some things of value to you.

  4. Very good question BB! I am still bitter about a pair of gorgeous shoes that Lacie ate one day when she was a pup! Also a tad bitter about my Gucci glasses that she completely destroyed! I came home and was thinking where the h**l did she find two plastic spoons and why did she bite the ends off...and where are the ends? Well...it turned out those two plastic spoons were actually my lens' for my very expensive glasses. BRAT! :D

I'm sure they do have a sensor...they tend to know what we love the most, and they apparently want to love it too :)

  5. lol.. yeah, I saw the couch in your answer to someone else.

I don't know..  I had one years ago that did well over $6000 worth of damage as a puppy..  some at our home, some with relatives..  but he still became a wonderful adult dog..

I'm lucky.. right now I have 3 that don't destroy anything, and 1 who has decided that pieces of paper are BAD..  so he's a papershredder now..  dogs can be strange sometimes.

  6. my dog never did that lol

maybe because you leave them lying around :D

  7. Penny has no interest in anything besides electronics. I'm typing on a computer with chew marks on all 4 cornors, taking pictues with the lens cover chewed half off, and I sit in chairs with doggy chew marks on them.

    The joys of puppies!

  8. I think they have that dog-dar when they think something physical MAY get in their way of their relationship.

IE: you sit on the couch a LOT more than you pay attention to them. So, they must KILL THE COUCH!

Roxy has a knack for that too, she nearly destroyed my brand new cell phone. It was IN MY PURSE on a shelf clear out of her range, but somehow she managed to get my purse down and get into it, leaving the gum, candy, mints, pens and pencils alone, and went right for the phone.

I mean, how evil can you get?!

  9. My dog has an endorsement deal with certain companies...Like the cell phone company, the more she chews the more treats they send her...Well I cant prove this, this is what I believe!!!

  10. They only like to chew on expensive things until you invest in expensive toys especially for them and then they would prefer to chew on sticks and other worthless junk! Have you ever noticed that?! It's crazy!

  11. JJ obviously only liked quality items in his mouth. He's personalized my Radley Wallet, cell phone case, favorite pair of shoes, nibbled at the heel of a pair of boots and trashed an expensive bristle hairbrush.

(It was in his erstwhile past though as a pup though!)

  12. Wish I knew. Our old german/golden mix (died last year at age 13) chewed up a brand new couch as a puppy, that was fun. Glad it belonged to my parents and not me. My two pits chewed up a rug and a 200 year old cherry cabinet. Managed to save the cabinet and the rug now belongs to them.

  13. Alfie has a taste for wires, my Mac charger, the hoover, my TV cord... he's not gonna be so hasty when he turns into a fried sausage!

  14. They think, "Oh... Mommy and Daddy love this so much and have been paying lots of attention to it... it must taste FANTASTIC if they spend so much time on/using/playing with it!"

Of course... Fattie would much rather lay on couches, shoes, pillows, stuffed animals, etc, than destroy them.

I think the thing I have been most irritated with being destroyed was my baby carrier. Bella ate it when I was outside doing something for not even 15 minutes... It wasn't that expensive, but I used it a lot to keep baby quiet while I did things around the house everyday...

  15. some breeds chew more than others, but all dogs will chew.

you could pay a dog walker to take your dog for a walk whist your at work to kill any boredom! also look out for a doggie day care like a childcare center where your dog will be walked and played with all day by professionals

  16. I've been very lucky, actually. The only thing Eli chewed that he shouldn't have was a $2 battery. Yeah, it ended up costing nearly $200, though. He's never chewed shoes, cameras, etc. THANK GOODNESS.

    **************************************...

And Molly is just odd! She was spayed less than a week ago and she's trying to hump Eli's head still! It's funny looking. He's 100 lbs and she is 9.5. (Of course, I stop her cause I can't stand to see a humping dog).

  17. If you've got expensive taste, why shouldn't they?  You trained them.  LOL
