  1. It means LOVE, thats how they show you how much they love you

  2. To show submission, or to love you, or b/c they think something smells good.  They don't have "hands" to feel with out of curiosity, they just have a toungue.

  3. it can be afectionate their way of saying i love you

it can be their way of grooming you

it can be because they saw their parents do it

or it can be because they like the salty taste on your skin

  4. It's a submissive thing.

In the wild, wolf puppies would like their parents faces to get them to regurgitate food, and later in life they would l**k the alphas faces to demenstrate their subserviance.

They also do it for the salts and oils in your skin, and also if you forgot to wash your face after dinner, that can encourage it as well.

  5. It's not affection...it's submission. l*****g is a submissive gesture.

  6. It can be an affectionate mutal grooming thing.. like what birds do.

Its also a submissive gesture.. a submissive dog will l**k at an alpha to try to appease.

Also remember that you do sweat, which is salty.. he may be l*****g the salt off your hands.. or if you use a scented lotion he may be l*****g that off.
