Why do doves lay eggs with no babie inside?

well i dont know which dove is a girl or guy but one of them is laying the egg and when he or she lays them the egg just endup having yolk in it so how do i solve this problem?

  1. Well I used to own doves, and my finches did this as well. Are you absolutey positive you have one of each s*x? Birds will just lay eggs on their own without being fertilized by  a male (chickens for example). They still will have the yolk, however if a male had ferilized it there would be an embryo inside. The only way to solve this is to go to a pet store where they know for certain what the s*x is. Birds that don't have outright diferences, such as color, to tell you the s*x have to be DNA tested. Pretty sure a vet can just do this. I belive they just pluck a feather and test that


  2. An egg is the equivalent of a period in birds. The only way for a baby to form is if the egg was fertilized.

  3. you may have 2 female birds.have them DNA tested

  4. Because they are not fertilized by a male.  You probably have 2 females or else the one that is supposed to be the male is not doing his job.  Have your birds DNA sexed...

  5. you might have two girls but some times it takes a young pair a while to figure out how to fertilize and sit on the eggs successfully
